For the first time in its 36 year history, the Mt Wilson New Years ride was snatched away by a Junior rider! Benny Velotsky made the 40+ mile ride to a height of more than 5500 feet faster than any of the 100+ other riders, despite poor visibility, cold and wet conditions. Speculation is that Benny Velotsky, and Matt Skarin were able to make it to the top along with about 25 other more seasoned riders out of more than 100 riders who started the ride New Years morning.
