From Dorothy Wong:
So, day two Saturday 12-16-2006...
SoCal's youth took the CX Natz by storm... making its mark on the national cross scene... coming away with one National Championship and 5 medals. The girls started out with a bang... Coryn Rivera led the way winning in dominating fashion, not only her category and a national jersey, but also was the fastest Junior racer of the day. The Ryan sisters, Kendall and Alexis Ryan made the podium with Kendall placing 4th in the 15-16 and Alexis 3rd in the
Peter Morris finished 17th while Miles Ludi earned a silver medal just missing out in a two man sprint for a silver medal in the 13-14 Jr. Men's race.
Didier Jordain raced the best of the best Elite Juniors race and finished a respectable 16th in a field of future heavy hitters. Didier is on his way to being one of them.
The hero to all of the Juniors and making his first race national championship out of the Juniors and into the U23, Chance Noble made the podium squeaking out the final podium spot... 5th.
In the elite men's championship, four riders in SoCal took the challenge to see who is the best in the Nation. Ryan Trebon (Kona) easily took the title gapping the field off from the start followed by some notables and included were some of SoCal's finest... Brent Prenzlow 19th, Michael Easer 48th, John Behren's 56th and Larry Leonard braved the day finishing.
Wow... so the SoCal medal count...
9 podium appearances including...
2 National Championships and Gold medals
1 Silver
3 Bronze
2 4th
1 5th
