Yep...that is what the racers in NorCal are saying. Lots of running of the gums with trash talk about us. Are you to just going to sit there and take it?? What do you think about a NorCal vs SoCal race?

We pick 6-7 race categories where we have a common BAR category and then take the top 30 riders from then and us. I would look at something in early Sept. Site to be determined, but I am thinking Bakersfield one year and the Fresno area the following year (unless they go back across the border whimpering "NO MAS"!!!).

Thoughts???

I'm in....we'll host it so its "in between" for driving distances and THEN we will have the cross state champs in January for the same thing....provided I can get some "assistance"---I'll secure the crit (I am assuming crit race?) course and OR circuit RR?? Let me know!

Obviously a dig to get a little competition going.

On a very serious note, it's a bunch of cr*p. I raced twice in NorCal this year and the Socal boys are WAY faster.

I think we would spank them like their mommies should have.

Ugh. NorCal seems to have a superiority complex that's unrivaled in nature. I used to hang out with a bunch of people from NorCal in school, and all they would do is b**** about how everything was better in the Bay Area. Even the Mexican food!!!! And yet, here they were, in SoCal. Whatevah. Of course, they all wanted to learn how to surf too.

I am in for a SCal v NCalrace. Bring those hicks on. I seem to remember going to Merced getting in a 8 man break in the Cat.2 road race, and driving that to the finish where the podium (and following 3 places) were all SOCAL. Can't deny the Cal Giant boys, they can ride a bike, but the rest of those guys North of B-Field can suck my wheel.

Nope, E, I'll host N vs S anytime.....It'd be a blast....AND with gas at 5 clams, I'll throw out any late fees, lower the entry to a bare minimum AND get a lunch sponsor at a ridiculous price! But wait, theres more...if we act now, the industry might get behind us a bit and we can find "green" ways to promote this....perhaps SCNCA sponsored natural gas buses to shuttle riders to B town?? Meet at LAX roughly?? Phat tour buses full of racers, now that would get in press. Gladiators marching to the tournament!

A throwdown in the okie bowl....bring it...

what if the entry were free? And the drive?? Truly, what would it take to create an uprising?? As I think emperor Hirohito said, "I am afraid all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant"

I like the bus idea, that would have been great to take a bus to Chula Vista.

Bring it! The North accepts your challenge.

Two States

But seriously, I kinda like this League thing in a way. There are quality riders/teams in both districts. Just maybe more of them in the North. (Joking!) You started it anyhow. First, you took our water...now this.

Bring it to SLO Cal. July 19-20. The Sisquoc Road Race (Santa Maria) and the San Luis Obispo downtown criterium. SLO is located 3 to 4 hours from LA and 3 to 4 hours from San Francisco. A perfect set up for an epic North vs. South showdown.

I dig. I dig. Good time on the calendar too. Boise Crit [NRC] and NCNCA the Watsonville Crit [NCNCA] is halfway there anyhow.

I can't find much information on these races. What are the courses like?

Let me talk to my Nor Cal People and get back to you. Wink

...like The Civil War, there will be many casualties, but the North will triumph and bring the Union back together. Or, alternatively, sell you to Mexico for a few pesos.

i enjoyed the racing up there in no cal...the McLeane weekend was cool..

one thing i noticed is that they are more in touch with how to ride a road race agressivly, as in they all attack non stop, non of this silly "lets play tour de france team tatics " nonsence like we tend to do down here.... they are however also apparently very happy within their own little norcal bubble, where you got Hernandez the pimp daddy and he's the big lovable joker who flys the flag and everyone wants to kiss his a## cause he's so funny and cool Rolling Eyes

then you got that big drip of water huctinson who on more than one ocassion tried to jostle in a final lap sprint in a cirt only to piss everyone off and then sprint like an old woman...oh and he does have a bit of a big mouth too...he certianly doesn't like so cal riders very much.

yeah they are a funny bunch...honestly i wouldn't waste my time building this up into something that's just gonna be a disapointment...

nocal think they are the cool dudes with the cool racing and socal think socal racing is cool... well both groups have a lot to learn about what is cool racing and what's not!! Wink

it is indeed...comments like that would ensure that you get a good swift kicking in norhtern Ireland...

dolophonic , what did you think of the racing in Ireland compared to here??

norcal guys,, why don't you ask your man Hanson from that BMC team what he thought of it all, he just got back from there a couple of weeks ago!!

by the way, Scotland Northern Ireland Ireland , England, it's all pretty much the same...cold wet and windy, but we all know how to have a laugh and we all know how to race our bikes Wink

Its a whole other thing.
Racing there was real hard (understatement!) ... from the gun it lines out...no parade laps / taking it easy at all .. really tuff is all i can say. glad to have been able to do it .!
There are some great races here too.
The bottom line is the riders can make the race.. if its on its on..
I have raced in Nor cal as well and gotten some decent results. They know about road racing, that is where the best courses are. Orosi is very hard.Mt Hamilton is a great race,so is Pine Flats..you could go on...
Scottie.. hows things?
You getting out at all?

Beatriz is awesome....Not saying just because she is on my club, she really is. She could easily outsprint many Cat 3 guys.

What is it that Mark Twain said?

"Better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are a fool, then to open it and remove all doubt."

just sayin.
