Team Velosport and Sho-air / Rock ‘n Road Junior Team Receive Awards 12/18/11 - Team Velosport, which is based in Irvine, CA, has been awarded USA Cycling’s 2011 “Junior/High School Club of the Year.” Team Velosport operates with a clear mission of introducing local youth to cycling. The parent-run structure keeps costs low so that ALL juniors are welcomed to the club to learn about safe riding skills, team tactics, junior-specific rules, equipment and maintenance, nutrition, and racing skills.
The Sho-air / Rock ‘n Road team, based out of Irvine, has a roster of 37 junior members, making it one of the largest junior road cycling programs in the nation. They are one of only eight teams in the country to earn the distinction as a USA Cycling “Center of Excellence”.
The Sho-air / Rock ‘n Road team is actively looking for junior road riders ages 10 to 18 for its 2012 roster. They accept riders of all skill levels who want to learn and advance in road cycling. The team is very active, offering over 120 junior specific team rides a year and a two-day development camp supported by top pro racers Rahsaan Bahati, Brandon Gritters and Sergio Hernandez.
