Specialized Decibel Helmet
By Jared Shimuzu

Specialized helmets are showing up more every year throughout the pro peloton and I was more than happy to help find out why. The model that was tested was the Specialized Decibel in Matte Black. The sizes available are Small, Medium, and Large, and the color choices are as good as it gets. They have the matte black, white, blue, matte silver and pink. To add to that they also offer team replica helmets for Cofidis, Lotto-Davitamon, Milram, Gerolsteiner, and the US U23 National Team. Setting up the helmet was a piece of cake. The retention system in the back was just a simple squeeze of the mechanism to get the helmet to fit perfectly on my head. There are also settings on the side of the helmet which allow you to lower and raise rear retention system. After a quick adjustment of the straps on the side, I was on the road. Right away I could tell why more and more people are choosing this helmet. The huge vent in the front of the helmet allows the air to go directly to your forehead while the large vents on the top cool the top of your head. Another plus was the two side vents which allow you to easily throw your glasses into when you're not using them. After six months of racing and riding, the helmet still looks and feels like new. This has been one of my favorite helmets that I have gotten to ride and I would recommend it to anyone. Available at Incycle and other fine shops.
