The Nike Lance 10//2 Shoe
By Frank Sarate
I was excited when I was offered the opportunity to test the Nike Lance 10//2 shoe. This is the same shoe that Lance Armstrong used to win his 6th and 7th Tour de France, so I new it would be nice. The Nike Lance 10//2 shoe’s name represents the date that Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer October 2, 1996. Nike will give the Lance Armstrong Foundation $1.00 for each 10//2 product sold, which will help in the effort to find a cure for cancer.

These shoes have a very clean design. The shoes are black with a yellow Nike Swoosh and accents, plus a silver carbon sole. I knew after installing the adhesive sandpaper and putting the cleats on with not having to adjust the cleats after installation, that this was a good start. The adhesive sandpaper holds my Shimano cleats in place nicely.
After increasing the mileage in my training, the Nike Lance 10//2 shoes, came at a perfect time for testing. These shoes perform well while climbing and sprinting. The stiff carbon sole, two Velcro straps (which are longer than some other shoes I’ve used) and integrated heel cup and strap with buckle ensure a solid feeling of power on the pedals. You can tighten or loosen the fit of the shoe with a buckle that ratchets nicely. I like to clamp my feet down and the padded tongue offers extra comfort.
The Nike Lance 10//2 shoe is a solid shoe and was tested by no one better than Lance himself. The shoe is clean looking, lightweight, as well as stiff and efficient. When buying new shoes for the fast approaching season, don’t overlook these shoes. They are right in line with any high end Euro shoe and then some. These shoes are sold at Trek Dealers.
