Tony Cruz's Wednesday night ride, 'The Cruzer Sessions' is moving to
Thursdays nights STARTING THIS WEEK (July 15, 2010)!
The reason for the change is simple, riders want a day to recover
between the popular El Dorado Training Series and the Cruzer Session
normally held on Wednesday nights. The change to Thursday night will
be effective starting this Thursday, July 15th. Hopefully this
doesn't inconvenience to many people. The training schedule will
remain as follows;
6:30 - 7:30 beginner or novice training for riders with Mountain
Bikes, Road Bikes, Hybrids, hand powered Trikes, fixed gear Bikes,
etc... (Tony helps riders learn to ride in a pace line and gives
basic tips on proper bike fit)
7:30 - 8:30 experienced riders come out to do battle with Tony. (we
run an A and B group so riders have and opportunity to challenge
themselves in a category suited to their fitness level and ability)
Who's Welcome
everyone is welcome from beginers, fix gear, crit/road racer, kids, etc..
it may take us a couple of sessions to figure out all the groups but we'll get it done, even if we have to add a day
Course
4 corners
7-8 tenths of a mile
training will run clockwise
Training
we will start at 6:30 and run a smooth and steady tempo behind a vespa scooter for the first hour the last 30 minutes will be run as a missing out. (the last 2-5 riders are eliminated at the end of each lap till we come down to the final 2-5 for a sprint)
Parking
Parking is limited around the course and once the training gets under way it will be difficult to get in and out of the parking lot
there's a great parking lot on the other side of Lakewood Blvd off of E. Connant ave.
Volunteers
my family will help me get the event up and running
we need to create a pool of 20-30 people that can rotate each week and help keep the ride fun and safe for everyone. (couch potatoes make great course marshalls)
We Need
a DJ that can spin some good and energizing music
a taco guy or lunch truck that can feed the riders after the training session
any other ideas that will make this the best open training ride in LA
Hope to see everyone there!
